Position Summary:
The Director of Programs & Workforce Development will lead the design, implementation, and
growth of SHCLA’s services arm, integrating the Fountain House/Clubhouse model into supportive
housing operations. This role will oversee workforce development, training programs, peer support
services, and employment pathways for adults with serious mental illness (SMI) living in SHCLA
housing. The position will be responsible for program excellence, strategic partnerships, contract
compliance, and revenue generation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Leadership & Development
• Design and oversee a Clubhouse-inspired program that integrates housing stability, mental health recovery, and workforce participation.
• Design programs and services for MHSA WET, WIO, and other funding programs to support supportive services
• Supervise all services staff, including employment specialists, peer navigators, and program coordinators.
• Establish measurable program goals and outcomes aligned with funder requirements and SHCLA’s mission.
2. Workforce Development & Training
• Build partnerships with local employers, training providers, and workforce boards.
• Lead WIOA-funded training initiatives and social enterprise development.
• Oversee career readiness, skills training, and transitional employment placements.
3. Partnership & Funding
• Engage and manage relationships with county agencies, funders, and community partners.
• Ensure appropriate program fit and compliance with MHSA, WIOA, and other funding requirements.
• Identify and secure new local, state, federal, and philanthropic funding opportunities for
services expansion.
4. Fiscal Oversight
• Develop and manage program budgets.
• Monitor cash flow and adapt program operations to funding realities.
• Ensure accurate data collection and timely reporting.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive leadership in workforce development, supportive housing, or mental
health services.
• Demonstrated success managing public contracts (WIOA, MHSA, Medicaid).
• Experience implementing or working within the Fountain House/Clubhouse model preferred.
• Strong supervisory, partnership development, and fundraising skills.

Position Summary:
As the Director of Real Estate Development, you will play a critical role in our affordable housing development team. Your expertise in structuring affordable housing deals and your strong financial acumen will be instrumental in driving successful project execution. In addition to your involvement in affordable housing transactions, you will also handle ad hoc corporate finance tasks to support the overall financial management of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
• Building Real Estate Development Department (RED) Infrastructure: Create policies and procedures for RED, regularly create templates and tools needed to improve effectiveness and efficiency. Lead weekly meetings with the project manager and executive director
● Affordable Housing Deal Structuring: Lead the financial analysis and structuring of affordable housing projects, including joint venture partnerships with established nonprofit and for-profit affordable housing developers, tax-exempt bond financing, and other subsidy programs.
● Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models in Excel to assess project feasibility, investment returns, and risk analysis for each project.
● Capital Sourcing: Identify and secure various sources of financing for affordable housing projects, collaborating with lenders, investors, and public agencies to optimize project funding, including CDFIs such as LISC, BAHFA, HAF, CSH, and private loan products such as 223f loan
products. Familiarity with tax-exempt bond financing for property acquisitions.
● Due Diligence: Conduct thorough financial due diligence for potential affordable housing
opportunities, evaluating financial viability and risk assessment including securing predevelopment funding.
● Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated with federal, state, and local regulations related to affordable and supportive housing finance and Community Care Licensing (Title 22), ensuring compliance with all applicable requirements.
● Corporate Finance Support: Assist in ad hoc corporate finance tasks, such as budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for the overall organization.
● Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders, conveying project performance and financial projections.
● Risk Management: Assess and mitigate financial risks associated with affordable housing development projects.
● Complete Refinances and Conversions.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's
degree is a plus).
● Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, with a focus on finance related to affordable
housing
● In-depth knowledge of affordable housing financing mechanisms, including LIHTC and tax-
exempt bonds.
● Strong financial modeling skills with the ability to perform complex financial analysis.
● Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities to collaborate with various stakeholders effectively.
● Experience with 8609s and conversions
● Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Founded in 2021, our aggressive growth strategy is largely dependent on our ability to engage stakeholders in Alameda County. Broadly this includes all Alameda County residents, state and local public agencies, philanthropy, and banking/credit union partners. More specifically, our stakeholders include advocates and supporters of our project including organizations focused on providing services to future residents, our board, and advisory committee. The Real Estate Development Intern will provide real estate development support for all development activities including pre-development, construction, and lease up with support from SHCLA leadership as assigned by the SHCLA staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work on for sale and/or multi-family projects
• Assisting in finance process with applications for project debt and equity
• Assist with equity/loan closings (gathering of due diligence materials)Comprehensive tracking of project data as needed for reporting (e.g. construction starts/finishes, budgeting, working with accounting to update pro-formas, scheduling.)
• Miscellaneous project errands as necessary (e.g., permit offices, closings)Other related tasks necessary to successful project development, especially for sale communities
• Assist in processing of permits and approvals through various municipal agencies.
• Create and track “Lessons Learned Alerts” for assigned projects.
• Research and track latest industry trends as directed or required for assigned projects.

Qualifications:
• Working towards a degree in a real estate development related field (i.e. Engineering, Architecture, Construction, Impact Finance, etc.).
• Demonstration of some relevant experience or interest in real estate, economic development, or community development.
• High degree of organizational skills and problem-solving ability; specifically the ability to work as a self starter especially as it relates to calling on resources outside the company.

The Digital Marketing Intern will provide marketing support for all marketing platform services including
marketing requests from SHCLA leadership with regard to brand marketing projects and initiatives as assigned by the SHCLA executive director.
Key Responsibilities:
• Email Marketing: Project manage global email programs including lead acquisition and email nurture campaigns
• Social Media Marketing: Produce and schedule highly engaging content on all SHCLA social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter)
• Write and conduct research for thoughtful, educational, and engaging content for SHCLA
communications including: Blogs, segmented email nurtures, and newsletters.
• Reporting and Analytics: Run reports on metrics and program performance; summarize and communicate insights and results among the team for knowledge sharing, informing optimization decisions, and recommend improvements based on actionable metrics.
• Assigned Marketing Deliverables: Manage creation, production, and launch of proposals, offering
memorandums, flyers, brochures, email blasts, website listings, social media promos, recruiting
initiatives, company events, etc."
• Ensuring best-in-class quality and service delivery to advisors for marketing requests
• Assist with marketing initiatives and special projects as assigned by the executive director
• Provide administrative support as needed while the organization expands its team.
Qualifications:
• 0-1 year of experience with email marketing platforms (Constant Contact and Mailchimp preferred
but Marketo or similar is fine)
• Foundational proficiency using Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Google
Apps, Microsoft Office, and social media platforms
• Solid copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills
• Hands-on experience managing paid media (preferably LinkedIn and Google Ads), building workflows and funnels
• Working knowledge of Hubspot building reports and dashboards
• Ability to work cross-functionally with people across the company to gather the necessary
information to execute campaigns and programs
• Wordpress and/or Webflow experience preferred or ability to learn Wordpress and Webflow
